  • Building and Grounds Manager
    Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School, a preschool through eighth grade independent school just outside Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking a Building and Grounds Manager for the current academic year. This is a full time, year-round position. The Building and Grounds Manager reports directly to the Director of Finance and Operations. The B&G Manager is responsible for ensuring that buildings and grounds are cleaned, maintained and utilized in a manner that fully supports the educational mission of Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School. Primary responsibilities include: *Collaborating with the Director of Finance and Operations to develop facilities-related budget priorities. *Collaborating with Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church personnel to ensure smooth coordination of shared spaces. *Managing the receiving function. *Developing, maintaining and reporting all required environmental, health and maintenance standards as required by law and collaborating with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure compliance with all regional, state and federal laws and regulations as they impact the school. *Coordinating and managing outside contractors who are performing repair, maintenance, or construction work on campus, including working with county fire marshal for the annual fire safety inspection of the entire facility. *Organizing, overseeing, and participating in the daily cleaning and maintenance of school facilities. *Organizing and supervising the maintenance staff.   • Substitute Teachers
    Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Day School, a preschool through eighth grade independent school just outside Annapolis, Maryland, seeks qualified per diem substitute teachers for all subjects in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Talented teaching candidates are invited to contact the school to learn more about employment opportunities at Saint Andrew’s. Our rich academic program promotes in students the development of productive work habits and the mastery of essential  academic content and skills. Interdisciplinary lessons are commonly employed throughout the curriculum. Teachers design lessons that encourage our students to think creatively and work collaboratively.  

 

Since 2008, Saint Andrew’s has been recognized by the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education as a Maryland Green School.  Our school is committed to employing sustainable practices and emphasizing environmental education. Teachers take advantage of our 20 acre campus to plan hands-on lessons incorporating resources like our Heritage Garden, the chicken coop, and our goats, Ivy and Joe, to foster in our students a deep appreciation for the natural world and to encourage them to be responsible environmental stewards.
